Being GD battle hardened does come in handy....
Like on You Tube. I might comment on some video, especially like a fighting video, boxing or UFC, nothing much, just giving my opinion on if I liked the fight or whatever, and inevitably some punk come along and tries to argue.

I'm just like: "Psh, does this guy even know what he's dealing with?" I mean seriously, I survived the presidential primary wars from 4 years ago, like some child on you tube is going to rattle me. Compared to GD these clowns are about as worrisome as an ass pimple. Plus, I have outsurvived most of my DU enemies, I think every person I ever had on Ignore has been TSed. I've smote them all!

You Tube is strictly amateur hour once you've battled in the Big Dance. No place is wilder than GD. :)

1. Careful with that ass (pimple analogy), Eugene...
;) After all, the ass pimple was powerful enough to keep Rush Limbaugh out of Vietnam, right? :P

12. Careful with that ass pimple Eugene....
...hmmm ya know what... that could be a great title for a song...I might want to change a couple of words...perhaps shorten it up a bit. "Careful with that axe Floyd"...no thats not quite right either.... tell ya what, I'll get back to you when I figure it out....there's got to be a song title in there somewhere, I have a nose for these things, trust me.

4. well...
at least in GD, the people tend to be human, rather than moderately educated monkeys banging on keyboards, as is the case at imdb

(i love imdb, but for the love of god, don't read the comments or message boards :scared:)

5. Thats true, imdb is overrun with
detractor's...been there for over a year now...I think its easier to discuss movies/actors, because 99% of the discussion are based on the posters perception, and not based on percieved/true facts....so, a lot of personal snipping over worthless things happen quite often...like on the Superman Returns board...we had people, who were totally, up in arms...because...get this, that the S symbol...was on his belt, instead of the more common button style buckle, that superman has...or the complaining of how the new cape fit around Superman's neck, instead of how Christopher Reeve wore his...

I'm usually on the The Dark Knight, Superman Returns, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Wonderwoman, and Smallville boards....I think the Smallville/Superman Returns board are the most juvenile...and Smallville probably being the most juvenile....

I never was too big on the imdb boards. I used to post some stuff years ago, but mainly I just go there to check out films. It's here where I get my jousting in. :)

7. I like imdb for one thing...
the posters on the boards, are usually...I'd say 70% accurate, with spoiler info, and the news/links that they bring in...at least with Batman Begins/Superman Returns...all the spoilers/links that I read, were often true/factual...and most fans are usually johnny on the spot with trailers, tv spots, or any tidbits of info pertaining to the movie....I was surprised at how...good the info was.

For SR, the first time I suspected, that a user was full of BS, was when he posted that...

Spoiler...

that there were cannibal Pomeranian's in the movie...we all laughed/joked with this guy...and then I watched the movie, the night before it was released...and whammo...there were cannibal Pomeranians in the movie....

but have spent time at Firefly and Spencer boards. Started a flame war once. Those are some tough people. The harshest are the ones who don't have the english as their first language.

edit for forgot spellcheck. I don't spell well.

8. Reading Youtube comments will destroy your faith in humanity
I was watching some vids of the Estonian-Russian riots going on now, and honestly everybody was going nuts calling the other side "sub-human" "animals" etc. and saying they "don't belong here". Yep... we've come soooo far since WWII :eyes:

9. GD also has a tendency to kill brain cells though, I've noticed.
Though that holds true for most of the internet, I guess.

13. I agree
I've argued against supporters of police brutality on there, but it was a piece of cake compared to this place. :D

16. I've found I am too rough for most places, like I was booted from Huff Post
RW trolls were alerting me right and left. Especially when one guy was jumping in calling Liberals wimps, talking tough. I asked him if he wanted to back it up, you know, like Franken did to Rich Lowry. Psh, that's just standard stuff in GD, well, a few things like that got me booted, haha.
