Man Sleeps Through Being Stabbed 9 Times
rrrrriiiiiiiigggggggghhhhhhhhhhtttttt

<snip>

A 23-year-old Winona man who was stabbed nine times early Saturday morning told police he couldn’t identify his assailants because he slept through the whole thing.

Deputy police chief Tom Williams said Winona Police are investigating the incident which oc-curred at about 1:30 a.m. at a residence on the 700 block of east Fifth Street, but was not reported until 7:57 a.m.

Williams said the victim told officers he slept through the attack and only became aware of his injuries when his girlfriend saw he was covered in blood and brought them to his attention. He was taken to Community Memorial Hospital and then transferred to LaCrosse for treatment. He remained hospital-ized Monday morning.

Williams said the investigation of the incident will continue.

1. You have to be drunk or heavily drugged to sleep through
something like that.

5. Or a psychopath.

I just found out that some research has indicated that many psychopaths have abnormally underdeveloped nervous systems, which decrease their response to painful (and pleasurable) stimuli. It's one reason psychopaths may desire dangerous, thrill-seeking activity (it's one of the only ways they can feel anything significant). It may also explain why so many of them are bed wetters into late adolescence (poor ability to perceive sensation may result in poor bladder control).

Okay, I've officially creeped myself out. It's freaky that I now know that.

9. Uh, forget about me, friend--just run.
Psychopaths are bad news. I should know; I used to date one.

:scared:

2. Wow. We must be related.

I, Fudge Stripe, am practically narcoleptic, and can sleep through just about anything. I've fallen asleep at parties, at concerts...wherever. I once slept through a loud car wreck that occurred outside our house back in the 1980s.

reprehensor has realized that part of his job as husband is to wake me up wherever I've toppled over, remove my glasses, and put me to bed. This happens usually once every other day.

Stabbing might be pushing it, but somehow I don't think so.

4. LOL
my sister-in-law is the same way. I love her to death, but when she goes sleepy-nigh-nigh, all bets are off.

We once put Alpo on her belly and let the dogs jump on her and lick it off, and she snored right through it.

7. He he...
Yeah, at the party they drew on my face with a marker. I was in junior high. It scarred me for life.

10. Hey Winona--I went to college there!
I drove taxi too--I know pretty much where this occured. Trust me Winona is a Drunkard's Dream if I Ever Did See One. (My apologies to The Band)

I love that town--but it is more than a tad weird--a funky little burgh nestled in the Mississippi River Valley. It's the land that time forgot. And this occured in its East End--the very center of WEIRD in the Upper Midwest!

Ah, those were the days.
