So how do humans show submissiveness non-verbally? (Not that kind of submission, TMI folks) |
|
What is the main non-verbal clue for you that someone is being obsequious or feels submissive? I got some interesting answers from people yesterday, and thought I'd see what DU thought.

Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you were asking how humans showed submission. Never mind.

6. In my experience excessive forced laughter at someone's lame/failed humor is a good indicator |

I did that with a boss of mine once or twice. It felt so miserable I decided to never force out a laugh again. It's extremely uncomfortable to be on the receving end of a forced laugh as well.

10. Just because they flee doesn't mean you've been involved in many S/M relationships |

HEyHEY is the exception that proves the rule, of course.

11. Tone of voice and eye-contact |
|
Edited on Tue May-01-07 12:37 PM by Marrah_G
Yes tone of voice might be considered verbal. But I am refering to the tone rather then the words someone chooses. The voice tends to get softer and quiter. Eyes make no contact or brief contact. Blushing also can be a sign.
I think it really depends on what sort of situation you are talking about.
