Help me identify an earworm. |

I heard this number playing on the radio while in Kentucky Fried Chicken the other day getting a quick dinner. Don't know the name of the tune or the group who recorded it. I only know a few lines from the chorus:
"In the middle of the night, ight, ight. In the middle of the night."
I like the song and want to get the CD but I'm stopped 'cause I don't know what the title of the song is.

In the middle of the night I go walking in my sleep From the mountains of faith To the river so deep I must be looking for something Something sacred I lost But the river is wide And its too hard to cross
And even though I know the river is wide I walk down every evening and stand on the shore I try to cross to the opposite side So I can finally find what Ive been looking for
In the middle of the night I go walking in my sleep Through the valley of fear To a river so deep Im a searcher for something Taken out of my soul Something Id never lose Something somebody stole
I dont know why I go walking at night But now Im tired and I dont wanna walk anymore Hope it doesnt take the rest of my life Until I find what it is Ive been looking for
In the middle of the night I go walking in my sleep Through the jungle of doubt To the river so deep I know Im searching for something Something so undefined That it can only be seen By the eyes of the blind In the middle of the night
Im not sure about a life after this God knows Ive never been a spiritual man Baptized by the fire, I wade into the river That is running to the promised land
In the middle of the night I go walking in my sleep Though the desert of truth To the river so deep We all end in the ocean We all start in the streams Were all carried along By the river of dreams In the middle of the night

Middle of the night Hold on till morning We will see the light Love is spawning Middle of the night Hold on forever Well know when its right All together
When will we listen When will we ever learn Read all about it This tide has got to turn
Middle of the night Hold on till morning We will see the light Love is spawning Middle of the night Hold on forever Well know when its right All together
Old folks and babys Theyre crying in the storm I tried to tell them Soon theyll be safe and warm
Middle of the night Hold on till morning We will see the light Love is spawning Middle of the night Hold on forever Well know when its right All together
Lord let us out of this hall full of mirrors Make it all clearer Dont let us fall In the middle of the night
Middle of the night New voices calling Saying its alright Im not falling Middle of the night Halfway till morning Middle of my life New days dawning
Middle of the night Hold on till morning We will see the light Love is spawning Middle of the night Hold on forever Well know when its right All together
Middle of the night New voices calling Saying its alright Im not falling Middle of the night Halfway till morning Middle of my life New days dawning
Middle of the night Hold on till morning We will see the light Love is spawning Middle of the night Hold on forever Well no when its right All together

I think wildhorses guess seems right, if so.
At least, that was the first thing that jumped to my mind.

7. Maybe the Climax Blues Band's "Couldn't Get it Right..?" |
|
Time is driftin',this rock has got to roll So I hit the road and made my getaway Restless feeling,I really gotta hold I started searching for a better way
Chorus:
And I kept on looking for a sign in the middle of the night But I couldn't see the light,no I couldn't see the light I kept on looking for a way to take me through the night But I couldn't get it right,no I couldn't get it right
LA fever, made me feel alright But I must admit it got the best of me Gettin' down, so deep I nearly drowned I can't get back to where I used to be
(Chorus)
New York City, took me with the tide I nearly died from hospitality Left me stranded and took away my pride Just another know it all fatality
