My new American-made, vegan, 15% recycled plastic sandals
Edited on Tue May-01-07 03:51 PM by mycritters2
have arrived. And comfy to boot!

My sister says I'm obsessive about the "not buying sweatshop goods" stuff. But it makes me feel good. Here, take a look:

edited, because obsessive has three s's.

2. Thanks. And it's a fairly inexpensive one, at least in this case. nt

3. Hey, those are nice!
I know someone that is very unhappy that Birkies are all about the leather footbed now, and they've basically told the vegan crowd to piss off. She will be VERY pleased to have this sent to her.

Thanks!!

4. THAT sucks!
When did they do that? I love my old vegan Birkies. :(

7. They've been phasing them out.
The non-leather ones are almost exclusively made with leather (not cork) footbeds. They still make some of the plastic-y ones, but the traditional ones are hard to find.

6. I know. And Earth Vegan are made in China, now.
These don't give quite the support that Birks do, though maybe another Okabashi style would--I'm thinking of ordering some of their "Sarasota"s before I go to Synod, which will mean a lot of walking--but for everyday wear, they're fine.

I discovered this company when I ordered clogs from Pangea, and when I got 'em they were this brand. I'd never heard of 'em, so searched 'em on line. I like lots of things about this company's policies.
