Question about renter's insurance? |
|
Is it better to get policy that covers actual cash value, or replacement costs?

It pays market value, not depreciated value. Think about your computer. It's probably actually worth considerably less than what it would cost to replace it.
Of course, it depends on your individual situation, the differences in the policy price, how risk averse you are, etc.

2. That's what I assumed, thank you |

I'm getting quotes to see what our options are...The way I see it, better safe than sorry, even though we live in a pretty damn secure bldg. But, we do have some pricey stuff, and you just never know, right?

3. Always better to get replacement cost if you can afford it. |

Cash value is a joke for most household items. Think of it as the yard sale price. :-)

4. Yeah, I figured as much... |

If it's too expensive, we'll forego it. I'm interested to see how much it'll cost. :)
