1. Have you ever lived in a foreign country? If so, which and what were your impressions?

2. What would be your ideal Democratic ticket for 2008?

3. What's one food you absolutely, positively, cannot eat. No matter what!

4. Do you write poetry? If so, share a couple of lines. If not, share a couple of lines from something else that you like.

5. Imagine that you're a super-producer. What would be your own ideal "Super-group".

2. Gore/Obama

3. Liver.

4. No, but this line from a song by Jarabe de Palo stikes me- "Hace tiempo alguien me dijo cual era el mejor remedio
cuando sin motivo alguno se te iba el mundo al suelo. Y si quieres yo te explico en que consiste el misterio. Que
no hay cielo, mar, ni tierra. Que la vida es un sueno."

5. Freddy Mercury on vocals, Less Claypool on Bass, Prince on Guitar, Trent Reznor on keyboards, and Larry Mullen Jr. on Drums.

3. 1. Only visited a few
2. I don't have one. I've come to the conclusion it's nearly irrelevant - it's important I think to get a Dem in office this time around. But for the my core issue - the ecology - we can't wait for a leader it has to be grass roots and I think most of the current crop of Dem candidates will be as receptive as we can hope to a real grassroots movement. So I'm just looking for general competence and to me that means I'm currently leaning towards Clinton. Perhaps with Edwards or Richardson as VP since so far they are the ones that seem to give the more precedence on ecology. There's probably better choices not currently on the list of candidates.

3. Sushi

4. I have tried at times but let me give you a couple of lines from something I like instead:

"I sit beside the fire and think
of how the world will be
when winter comes without a spring
that I shall ever see.

For still there are so many things
that I have never seen:
in every wood in every spring
there is a different green."

JRR Tolkien (Bilbo recites in FoTR)

5. Well I'm completely musically inept there's a lot I like but I don't think I could put together a super group that would work well together. Perhaps some mix of Pink Floyd Members and Led Zeppelin

"1. Have you ever lived in a foreign country? If so, which and what were your impressions?"

'Oh my God! You've killed Kenny! You bastard!'

"5. Imagine that you're a super-producer. What would be your own ideal 'Super-group'."
Um, group of what?

1. I have never lived in a foreign country....though I would like to live in England one day!!
2. Joe Biden/Hilary or Obama
3. Mushrooms...they are slimy
4. I do not write poetry..though i wish i had the talent....
Eugene Onegin...by Pushkin
"My uncle, a most worthy gentleman,
When he fell seriously ill,
By snuffing it made us all respect him,
Couldn't have done better if he tried.
His behaviour was a lesson to us all.
But, God above, what crushing boredom
To sit with the malingerer night and day
Not moving even one footstep away.
What demeaning hypocrisy
To amuse the half-dead codger,
To fluff up his pillows, and then,
Mournfully to bring him his medicine;
To think to oneself, and to sigh:
When the devil will the old rascal die?"

5. I would re-unite the orginal members of the Snick's Roundhouse show......Anyone remember that?

14. Good morning- or whatever time it is in your part of the world
(probably about dinnertime, I'm thinking...)

1. Have you ever lived in a foreign country? If so, which and what were your impressions?
No. The only other country I've ever been to is Canada. Canada's cool.

2. What would be your ideal Democratic ticket for 2008?
Gore/Obama. Not gonna happen, sadly.

3. What's one food you absolutely, positively, cannot eat. No matter what!
organ meats.

4. Do you write poetry? If so, share a couple of lines. If not, share a couple of lines from something else that you like.
No. I did in high school. I'm not sharing- in part because I'd have to look for it, in other part, because it would be horrendously embarrassing. Some of it was comedic, though.

5. Imagine that you're a super-producer. What would be your own ideal "Super-group".
I have no.idea. Admittedly, I don't ponder that sort of thing often. On a tangent, though, have you heard the new NIN album? I just downloaded it yesterday but haven't had a chance to listen to it yet. I've heard much comment about it.

1. I've always lived in the US :patriot:

2. My favorite people would be Gore & Kucinich!

3. I will not eat liver :puke:

4. Song lyrics count as poetry I think, and I love listening to the words.
Dorothy Parker's one of my favorite actual writers, this one of hers is like my moto- "They say of me, and so they should, it's doubtful if I come to good." }(
I haven't written any but I really want to, someday.

5. My super-group would maybe be.. Prince & Portishead.. or Gillan Welch & Neko Case. (?)

19. Mine:
1. Have you ever lived in a foreign country? If so, which and what were your impressions?
I've never lived in a foreign country, but have visited Canada a number of times. My favorite city there is Victoria. I love the street lamps with the baskets of flowers hanging from them. I love the Empress Hotel. I love the Buchart Gardens. I love the shops. It's one of my favorite cities.

2. What would be your ideal Democratic ticket for 2008?
Gore/Edwards.

3. What's one food you absolutely, positively, cannot eat. No matter what!
Liver!!!!!! :puke: We were pretty poor when I was growing up, and my mom did her best to stretch every dollar. Unfortunately, one of the cheapest things to get was liver. I hate liver!!!! The only way I could eat it was to drown it with ketchup, and follow it with a milk chaser.

4. Do you write poetry? If so, share a couple of lines. If not, share a couple of lines from something else that you like.
I used to write poetry, but haven't in years. Too tired right now to search for something I like.

5. Imagine that you're a super-producer. What would be your own ideal "Super-group".
Oy, I have no idea. Sorry. My taste in music is incredibly diverse. Who would be the ideal people to populate a rock 'n' roll, reggae, hip-hop, rap, operatic, country, bluegrass, celtic band?
:P

20. A day late... but here ya go!
1. Have you ever lived in a foreign country? If so, which and what were your impressions?
Technically, yes. But London, Ontario hardly seemed "foreign", except for getting used to the colored money and the donut shops in every block. What's up with that, eh?

2. What would be your ideal Democratic ticket for 2008?
Clinton/Gore, in either direction. Alternately, Clinton/Obama, if big Al is definitely not running.

3. What's one food you absolutely, positively, cannot eat. No matter what!
two words: wet bread. My dad used to dip pieces of bread into milk, and then expect me to take a bite. The sliminess just grosses me out to the point of gagging.

4. Do you write poetry? If so, share a couple of lines. If not, share a couple of lines from something else that you like.
I write short fiction... have tried a hand at poetry a time or two, but wasn't very good at it.
If i'm reading it, it's usually the latest piece that Oktoberain's working on, or i dig out a volume of Byron or Poe.

5. Imagine that you're a super-producer. What would be your own ideal "Super-group".
My tastes are simple, and it's already been done. The Replacements did a reunion show, and invited Dave Minehan (of another Boston indie band, "The Neighborhoods") to perform with them. I LOVE both bands, and I would have given almost anything to have been in the audience to see that.

21. A day late
Edited on Thu May-03-07 09:53 AM by Chan790
1.) No...I have not. I'd like to though.

2.) I don't have one. I think all our choices suck thus far. (We need a fighter, not another ""thoughtful moderate". We can't win without making the "Democratic difference" obvious, go left or go home.) I think if Clinton and/or Obama gets the nomination, we're going to end up with Fred D. Thompson in the White House. :scared:

3.) Eggs. Egg whites taste like blood...I can taste them in anything.

4.) Yes. No I will not. Most of it is filthy...and the rest is stuff I'm saving until I have enough for a book. Okay, but I have to find something short...I hate when people break-out sections of poems, it's context-theft.

This flesh is mine, my skin, my blood, mine.
This flesh, gristle, meat, hopeless. Mine.
Ground through, imbued with chunk of gravel, cartilage.
Running red across black in my girlfriend's asphalt,
filling in creases, the spaces between individual stones
and knuckles, seeking its' own level.

5.) I hate the idea of "super-groups". They're always worse than the sum of their parts.
