is funky fingernail polish color inappropriate for a 40something woman? |
|
Something along the lines of purple or blue?

By 40-something I had long since stopped giving a shit what other people thought was appropriate. At 52 I still have long hair, wear Moroccan clothes with sandals -- even in the winter. I'm convinced it's my calling to drive the fashionistas crazy.

4. You know, I was once like you |
|
I'm 35 and, until two weeks ago, I was questioning whether to get my navel pierced. You know what, it's your body and you must feel good about you, no one else.
Of course, your work may or may not approve, but outside of that, anything goes.

but are afraid it might be inappropriate for the office or such, paint your fingernails in a conventional shade, and put the wild colors on your toenails.
I do it all the time, it's the best of both worlds.

All the old ladies have that :hi:
But seriously, forget about clocks and calendars, they're just there to make sure you feel like you're missing something. You do what you want to do. You don't have much time left :woohoo:

7. 40something women had the 70s as their formative years |
|
Keep that in mind when judging how funky is too funky.

9. I'm 48 and I got my second ear piercing two months ago, and |

want to wear an ear cuff if I can find a pretty silver one. Granted, it isn't that serious a thing, but there's a little rebellion that comes with second piercings.
My problem is that I also want to wear younger clothes. Nothing risque, but certainly not a Talbots style.

Stop being an establishment drone!
However, if it were on a doctor and you are the patient it is in your rights to ask for someone else, but remember to modify a latin dictum "clothes don't make the man".
