One of the greatest rock vocalists ever. Member of the Small Faces, and lead singer of Humble Pie. The man could flat belt out a song. Better than Robert Plant, IMO. Check him out. Rest In Peace, Steve.

1. I Don't Need No Doctor!
From one of my favorite all-time live LPs, "Performance: Rockin' the Fillmore".

2. If he couldn't get a crowd rockin', no one could.
Saw Humble Pie in concert in '72. One of the most supercharged shows I've ever seen.

Would have loved to. I did see several other great concerts that year!

4. I know you can't see them all, but you missed a hell of a group.
But since you have their performance at fillmore, that's the next best thing.

Their "Smokin'" album doesn't have a bad song on it, and Marriott is at his best vocally.

7. I'm sure you have the DVD...

...The Life And Times of Steve Marriott. I could have done without the "contributions" of Kevin Dubrow, but other than that, I thought it was quite good.
I saw Marriott in 1984 or '85 with the Packet of Three in Cleveland. He rocked it out...
I'm a really big Ronnie Lane fan as well...

8. It's a real shame Steve isn't with us anymore,he was so talented and
full of life. Packet of three was good. He may have lost just a bit of edge by that time, but still a remarkable performer.

9. OMG!
I hadn't heard "Thirty Days in the Hole" since probably 1974.

Thanks for posting this, man. :headbang:

(Some anti-matter schmuck posted at YouTube, "Peter Frampton didn't deserve to be in the band.") :eyes:

10. Frampton
Damn good lead guitar, not a good front man.

12. Hell, it was Frampton who started the band. Steve Marriott asked if he
could join, and Frampton was blown away by the fact that an accomplished and successful musician as Marriott would be interested in joining him.

14. i always like the New Riders of the Purple Sage' "Don't Need No Doctor."
once in a while during a show Jerry Garcia would play with them -- sometimes on pedal steel guitar, which was especially sweet.
