"Drink plenty of liquids and rest" - how ridiculous is this for advice?
If I drink the extra liquids, I will not get much rest because I will be running to the bathroom all the time.

Think about taking a potassium supplement. I've found that they can help get fluids into the system more efficiently.

i had pneumonia a few years ago nd i was coughing so much i was keeping everyone up at night so the Doctor gave me the stuff with codeine in it---best sleep ever.

You have my sympathies. I had it a few years ago. It took me months to be able to breathe normally.

get as much rest as you can. If you can run a humidifier try and do that...you have to keep hydrated.
