Responding to Invite to the Lounge

Hello Fellow DUers! I've been here forever and almost never stop in the Lounge. Shame on me!

Anyway, there's a topic I've been wanting to bring to DU but of course fits nowhere BUT the Lounge....

A kitty!!! A week ago Sunday my daughter (reincarnation of Ellie May Klampet) brought home a kitty who was abandoned at Pet Smart. My daughter is a high school senior who works there. Anyhow, we guessed this poor little creature to be maybe 3 weeks old. She fit in my hand. Big fluffy coat but nothing but bones underneath. Poor thing! I went and bought bottles and kitty formula. For the first 3 or 4 days all this poor little kitty did was eat and sleep. She was utterly starving!

The good news is, here we are some 11 days later and what a different world! She's filled out and grown incredibly! She's going to be a real beauty, mostly black, gray tummy, looks like maybe some interesting markings coming to the fore.....and such a sweet kitty! So good iwth the litter box too! Has not had any "incidents" since I introduced her to it.

We will be keeping her. She's beautiful and very precious to us all, especially me. I believe she was nearly dead when we got her and she & I really bonded when it was just us (kids in school etc) those early days where it was a bottle every two hours and much sleep.

We are undecided on a name yet. The 1 year old puppy gets very excited to see her (we keep them apart till kitty can administer the necessary "lessons") so my son suggested Anarchy, Annie for short. We may go with that. I kinda like it.

I know there are lots of kitty lovers here. I've raised lots of cats (and dogs for that matter!) but this is the first orphan I've saved/raised. I can't get over how precious she is to me. Will be taking her into Vet in the next week or two and will get her fix in a few months or so.

Just wanted to share this with you all.

I'll see if my daughter can take and post pic with her digital camera. She's at work now and I have no idea.

This kitty will have a very long and beautiful coat, mostly black. She'll be stunning, right now she's in her adorable stage.

What's funny is that many political personalities who know me think I am this indomitable iron creature. haha So funny to think of them seeing me cooing and feeding this precious baby fluff ball a bottle.

haha Our secret lives I guess. ;-) I told someone about it at our State Central meeting last weekend and told them not to "spread it around" because we don't word to get out I am such a softie. I'd be ruined! If only they knew.....
