Today was a co-worker's last day and...
I couldn't be happier. It has been a long time since I felt blinding hatred toward an individual. Just knowing this guy was breathing the same air as me irked me to no end. His egress is one of the greatest things to happen to me in quite some time.

The only other time I've felt such blinding distaste for anyone is toward neo-con types when they get all uppity and in my face (pro-lifers, right wing Christians, gay bashers, etc.)

Anybody ever had this much of a hate for a co-worker before? Or am I just a horrible person?

But in your case, I know it's not the latter. Glad you're rid of him. I've known (and worked with) the type.

16. "I'm trying to be the Shepard Ringo"
I'm trying to not be so angry. But it is really hard. they world is screwed up. Justice seems to be dead. The rich get richer. And assholes always seem to win.

I had to stop my husband, almost on a daily basis, from coming to my office and kicking the crap out of the guy. He'd always offer, but I'd always tell him no.

This guy is not only a big pain in my ass, he thinks Bush is DA BOMB! If he got run over by a truck I wouldn't shead half a tear.

You seem to be a decent person, you're here right?

8. mostly not sure...

He just set off my agitation meter. Just being in the same room with him normally was enough to set me off.

The other thing was that he usually treated me like I was completely stupid and incompetent, which I am not. The other problem was he'd always go off about how much more experience he had as a designer and how my opinions about design were pretty much useless. Problem with that was is that I have been in the IT/design business for 12 years. Twelve years ago he was still in Jr. High.

10. well there is that too...
He is one of those "fiscal" conservatives. The guy made more money than ANYBODY else in the office. He'd spend large chunks of his day online tracking his investments. The irritating part about that was he'd always go on about how broke he was. He is single and has two cars. One was a 4 door sedan and the other was a leased Mercedes (just for fun car) with a monthly price of over $400.

13. no jealousy
I always ended up cleaning up after his messes or rushing to get stuff done after he took too damn long to finish his parts. He never hit a deadline and put everyone else behind because of it. But then when the time came for handing out the "good job" complements he'd always get the big nod and everyone else that had to cover his lazy ass to get things finished got left out.

I wouldn't give a crap about the money except for the lazy factor. He was never done on time and his stuff rarely worked on the first try. He would "work from home" but never be available. We found out on many of his "work from home" days, he'd be at the movies or something. And yet he would always get the praise for a job well done.

It was just irritating to see him pull in double what the next highest paid person made and still have him screw things up.

14. sure...
But I've never been a big fan of conspicuous consumption. When everybody else at the job had families to feed and is barely scraping by on what they make and he was complaining because he was having trouble affording his "play" car, you can see how he'd piss us off.

17. My supervisor at my last job.
He was the most horrible person I have ever known personally, and I had to be in the same office with him for a year. He said on more than one occasion that he agreed with Hitler. Used the n-word regularly. Hated anything that wasn't a white upper-middle-class "christian" male.

19. At a Place I Used to Work......
...co-workers would give going-away parties (at a local bar or restaurant) for people who left to go to other companies. One guy in Incoming Inspection was so disliked by his co-workers that when they organized his going-away party, they wouldn't tell him where it was being held.

20. going away party
Someone in the office asked if we would be doing one for him. I told her that if we did, I wouldn't show. My hypocrisy has some boundaries.
