Group Wants Congress To Adopt 5-Day Weekend
<snip>

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Tuesday is the new Friday, according to an Asheville, N.C., group.

A group calling itself Friends of the Five Day Weekend is trying to convince Congress to change the way Americans work and relax. They're suggesting an end to the five-day workweek. And if people need a place to unwind, why not western North Carolina.

Campaign director and Atlanta-based actor Roy McCrerey said while the current situation is, in his words, "crazy," he pointed out that Congress was in session 104 days last year, which averages out to two days a week.

The idea started as a promotional gimmick by the Asheville Convention and Visitors Bureau, which is spending more than $500,000 on the campaign.

The group used its "Work Less Express" bus, live music and giveaways to raise awareness of unused vacation days and pressure Congress for a two-day workweek. By the way, the group mentioned Asheville is a place to rest and recharge.

1. Oooh Western Carolina

Actually Asheville is a wide open liberal town. Think Austin Texas in the middle of Appalachia.

3. "Raise awareness of unused vacation days"?!
People have unused vacation days? I can't imagine loving your job so much that you don't take your vacation days. Inconceivable.

5. It's called "having so much shit to do that your boss gives you grief about taking them."
And yes, I am looking for another job.
