Slipped and fell in the basement and ripped my ear lobe pretty much off on a jagged piece of metal. So I now have about 20 stitches and a sore arm from the tetanus shot.
And now that I am finally back from the ER, I'd like to take this opportunity to say:
OW!!!! THAT F**KING HURT!!!!

8. Yeah...I might have a few. |

The ER people were at least pleasant. I went to the urgent care clinic first and they took one look and said "Dude, hit the ER".

A dog almost chewed my ear off when I was young. Consider yourself fortunate that the piece of metal never found your jugular.

Do NOT rip your ear lobe off with a jagged piece of metal. Got it! Thanks! }(

That's awful :-( OW....oh gosh, I'm sure that's gotta hurt. Scream again, you deserve too. Did they at least give you a halfway decent pain pill? Oh Honey I'm sorry.

10. No. They gave me no pain killers. |
|
Just a couple of locals and about 30 minutes of sewing me back together and shot in the arm for good measure.
I'd kill for a vicodin about now. Think Rush can spare a few for me?

7. Yeah, I know the feeling. I slipped and fell in my kitchen on November |
|
24th and I still can't walk.
Dislocated my kneecap.
Sat on the floor, alone, screaming, yelling for help for 2 hours until a friend was able to get there and get in the house and get me an ambulance.
Thank GOODNESS for our GREAT medical care system! I got approved last week for physical THERAPY-- well for an EVALUATION to see if I need it.
It's only been 7 weeks. They're really rushing me through this.

In the earlobe? You must have nearly ripped the whole freaking EAR off! I bisected my thumb vertically and only got 7 stitches...I can't even see how they FIT 20 stitches in the earlobe.
OW OW OW OW OW. That must have bled like a mofo! I hope they at least gave you some decent painkillers. OW. I'll bet the Novocaine shot hurt like holy hell, too. OW.

16. Perhaps hearing something far worse will make you feel better... |
|
Years ago, I was doing cold-weather excercises. This was when we (Canadians) were still using the old FNc1A1 7.62 rifle--Big and heavy. Anyway, in CW, you are supposed to sleep with your rifle in your sleeping bag, to keep it from freezing. Naturally, you unload it and (this part is just as important) CLOSE the breach. You don't want to have the spring-loaded breach-block slam shut while you're sleeping, right?
Because you might have your finger, or something else, in it at the time.
And that's exactly what happened to someone in my platoon. Except it wasn't his finger.
Think "lower".
Think "medical discharge".
Think "end of the line, reproductively speaking".

20 stitches, though... man, that had to hurt.

Glad that's *all* you did to yourself--it could have been worse, right?
(I know that's much consolation, but think about it...)
At least you're back home. Feel better.

24. One of the worst things I ever did ... didn't hurt! |
|
At first.
Picture this:
- Greg the teenager standing at the gas stove with a burner on - Greg heating up M&Ms in a metal spoon over the burner - Greg popping the hot, melted (inside) M&Ms in his mouth - Greg deciding when he's had enough he'll lick the spoon clean - Greg watches as a puff of steam escapes from his mouth - Greg wonders what caused the steam - Greg realizes he just put a piece of red-hot metal in his mouth - Greg's cauterized nerves suddenly wake up - Greg runs screaming from the room as a chunk of his cooked tongue sticks to the spoon
Now THAT hurt!
