We were on the road and I was explaining to our daughter about the exit off the highway, and she was confused about what it had to do with eggs... I'm an "eggs-it" person, as well, and just never thought about it!

she has the potential to be a great writer some day.

I know I don't need to encourage you or Mr Brer Rarius to keep her interested in noticing everything.

How many returns did you have to hit to make the actual poll a scrolly-downy-thingie?

for your scrolly-downy intentions?

Was it just random, or were scientific methods involved?

I need to know this kinda stuff. If you could see inside my head, you'd understand why. And you'd run away screaming.

17. Hrm...
I think I just scrolled down until what I had posted was near the top of the screen, figuring that plus header space would be enough to hide what I typed at the bottom. And then I previewed it to make sure it worked correctly.

I don't think I'd run away. I think I might be comforted to have met a fellow over-analyzer. :)

I do not consider it a good day unless I've made someone laugh.

And my wife drinks expresso when she's sleeeepy. I don't blame her though - her dad warshes his car. I had to think about how I say it, although my first guess ("ecks-it") was correct.

21. Most of this stuff is indeed regional. I doubt you'll find even ONE Pennsylvania native
who doesn't say "eggsit."

But of course, people from PA tend to put antifreeze into the "raddiator" (rhymes with "gladiator") of their cars as well.

that you walk on. ("Payment" = "pavement" = "sidewalk.")

I had a harder time understanding Philadelpians when I first moved there, than I had understanding Southerners when I forst moved south.

32. Now people 'warsh' their hands here too
and funny how a last name can be pronounced one way here, and another way in another part of the state.

And when i moved from north central oklahoma to central arkansas, i felt like i'd moved into the very deep south.

now i live in western arkansas and it is a different dialect altogether, still more of a "southern" than western, but i thought oklahoma accents sounded southern when i moved there from utah, but in comparison, it's like oklahomans in central oklahoma anyway, have a much different accent than southeast oklahomans.

i'm sure that is true anywhere, i never noticed it much in utah, of course it never seemed like there was an accent there.

I am from NJ and this is how we say it

I think with these "how do you say" posts and surveys you should ask where they come from..
Its really interesting!!!!

I remember being in Las Vegas and a woman came up to me and asked me where my accent was from????!!

Never in my life has anyone asked me that again...
My son went to Paramedic school in Pittsburgh and they actually have a translation book in the stores for the students!!!!

LOL :)
