Cold. Rainy. Nightime. Not good odds. There's still vast swaths of forrest they haven't searched for his body, so who knows?

It's an interesting mystery to be sure. :-)

edit: I was watching Cash & Treasure on the Travel Channel and some kid found some of the money several years ago, verified by the serial numbers on the bills. But the bulk of the dough still remains at large.

12. He died in a shoot out with police.

A few months after the famous PNW heist, there was an identical airplane robbery out in the midwest. Only this time cops on the ground were able to follow the robber back to his hideout, where they killed him in a shootout. The fact that he never got away led meant there wasn't a big mystery, and people mostly forgot about it. I think it was the same guy. That's my theory anyway.
