My dogs have a habit of jumping up on the windows to bark at things. Last year they shredded some brand new aluminum screens before my husband had the storm windows in the barn. Has anyone had any experience with the supposedly pet proof screen material some companies sell?

2. My only experience is with cats, who are absolute hell on screens. |

I can't imagine that dogs could be worse, since unlike cats they don't actually hang on the screens with all four sets of claws, causing said screen (now full of holes) to pull out of the frame. I have had somewhat better luck with aluminum screens; the plastic ones tear too easily.

and put tiny little holes in them.... We had a hole in the screen on our back porch and right inside the door I had bird seed..... I had a squirrel climb through the hole and into the bird seed it was quite comical...
My daughters friend walked through our screen going out to the deck.... It was hysterical!!!!!

I haven't had to replace it in at least four years (cat and dog). On the other hand, I have the glass at the bottom of the doors and the screen at the top.

windows from the top? That saves your screens and is safer than opening them from the bottom.

7. I installed pet screen |

about 5 years ago. No problems -- it was well worth the extra buck or two it cost. Little Ricky climbs it but leaves no holes. I highly recommend it.
