I never liked it either. I think it was originally a derogatory term

and then the OK biz people in the late '60s-early '70s tried changing it to mean Oklahoma Key to Intelligence and Enterprise.

Okie has never bothered me, I like it better than being called an Oklahoman. Oklahoman reminds me of that crappy newspaper published in OKC. :P

It's been a wet, wet week here. I went out & bought mosquito dunks today for the low spots around my yard. I'm sure they will be out in force by the end of the month. :scared:

used them for many years now. I am in NE Oklahoma and the skeeters will carry you away in a wet spring like we are having this year.

But they arent closing schools even though there has already been drowning deaths, beacuse they had to close too many times in the winter.
