Anyone else notice lots of daytime headlights on today?? What was up??

I'm in the L.A. area and all day long I noticed hundreds of people driving with

their headlights on during the day. I know this sounds strange, but my husband and

I both noticed it. Was there some FOX News edict or a turn your lights on to

save Paris Hilton campaign or something?

Any clues??

1. I think a lot of cars are made w/ daytime running lights

though strangely enough my last car (a '98) had them and my new car (an '06) doesn't. :shrug:

2. I thought I was seeing a funeral procession....

Until I didn't see a hearse. Yesterday had to be some kind of significant "lights on" day for somebody. I noticed about ten cars in a row with their lights on; then nothing for the rest of the day. I saw them in the morning at about 9:45.
