Recommendations needed for new cell phone

I'm in the market and want ideas. I'm very attracted to the iPhone, but will it work as advertised? I have an 80G iPod, so MP3 capability isn't a biggie. I frequently use the camera feature on my current phone, but am not married to it. I guess my priorities are long battery life, decent sound and email and Net capabilities. Thanks!

We have Cingular, BTW (prefer that to "the new ATT").

1. Whatever you do, do not get a Crackberry

If I could, I would throw it off the nearest bridge. Having email wherever I go makes it impossible to unwind and unplug from the workweek.

4. i have a Katana, it's a flip phone and it has the internets and a camera

no mp3 capability though. My daughter has a chocolate phone, thats pretty cool, mp3 player, internets, camera and the sound quality is pretty good. I'm waiting on the iphone, my husband works for apple so he'll be getting one and i'll wait to hear the reviews from him.
