Bad news Battlestar Galactica fans |
|
It's been confirmed that this next season will be the last :( Season starts in January and Edward Olmos says "This will probably be the most extraordinary season of 'Battlestar'. It's the final season, so it's definitely going to be the most vicious. As far as we know, in respects of the way we have this show constructed, this is the final season."

They need to wrap it up. Otherwise it'll turn into a meandering crap-storm like Star Trek

2. I guess this means they get to Earth somehow |
|
that cliffhanger with Starbuck at the end...
I just hope they don't give us a long layoff midway through this final season.

There is always a long layoff between half-seasons.

5. Imagine their disappointment. |
|
They fight their way through all that crap, travel halfway across the universe, endure untold suffering and heartbreak, only to wind up...here. What an anticlimax.
My guess is the final scene of the final episode will show the fleet heading back into space, while Adama sadly shakes his head.

6. Ehh, I kinda figured that it would be wrapping up. There's not much left to the story |
|
when they find Earth. I'm glad that they'll be going out on top before it gets stale. Heck I remember when the original series got to Earth, it went waaaayyy down hill and that's saying something considering how cheesy that series was in retrospect.

7. You had me scared for a minute.... |
|
...I figured you were going to say that the show was being canceled before they had a chance to roll Season 4 out!
As much as I love BSG, I agree w/ DS1: they need to wrap it up while they're still on top.

8. oh man if they did that there would be riots |
|
that's not the kind of cliffhanger you can end the series on without seriously pissing off a lot of people. I'm going to miss it but I guess I have to agree that I'd rather it go out in a blaze of glory that end up like X-Files.

9. I was reading about this on another board site, and one of the ideas |
|
Edited on Fri May-11-07 06:45 PM by DS1
kicked around was that the only two people to actually make it to Earth would be Baltar and 6. Like and Adam and Eve thing, I thought that was the neatest idea.

10. Ha! THAT would be wild! |
|
So, any thoughts on whether or not Tigh, Tyrol, Tory & Anders are indeed 4 of the Final Five or are the show's producers just jerkin' us around?

12. I'd be a bit pissed if it was them |
|
Lucy, you got a lot of 'splainin to do!
Certainly not the first time they've been jerking us around though. Did you read anything about how they killed of Starbuck. Crew in tears during her 'final' episode, going away parties, even had Katie casting for shows for other tv stations to help with the cover-up.

11. Scifi.com: no end has been announced for the award-winning show. |

Flight of Battlestar Continues
Battlestar Galactica's search for Earth continues to be an open-ended adventure, executive producer David Eick said.
Contrary to comments by Edward James Olmos (Adm. Adama) at the Saturn Awards on May10, no end has been announced for the award-winning show. Battlestar Galactica is preparing to film its fourth season, one that will include 22 episodes, rather than the previously announced 13.
"For those of you who have been paying attention over the years, this is not the first time Eddie has made an announcement about the possibility of the show's end," chuckled Eick. "I promise you that when Ron and I make a decision about Galactica's future, we'll let you know."

They've done wonderful work, but this story has a beginning, middle and end.

14. I don't care as long as the writing stays good. |

Although I agree that it's hard to see where else this story can go. Wrapping up in season four would feel about right.
