I hate my job. I'm sick and fucking tired of waiting to hear back from an interview I had 3 weeks ago. I hate my life. My "partners"...they suck too...and not in the fun spanky way.

I know I haven't been in the Lounge for a while. And anyone who wants to beat me with a wet noodle for abandoning you all for GD can feel free. But if you ever wanted to know anything... now's the time to ask - can't promise my typing/spelling with make much sense though. I've had two doubles in 45 minutes and am about to start on another.

Apple martinis are proof that there is a benevolent supreme being and that it loves us. Like little alcoholic Jolly Ranchers. :)

My last birthday, the guy I had been dating moved to Florida that day. So the local DUers took me out to eat that night to cheer me up. At the restaurant...the bartender was clueless. My apple martini...had an olive in it. Yuck.

So. We hit a bar afterward. I order another apple martini. The waitress comes back and tells me they're out of apple pucker. So I order a Cosmo. Waitress comes back and tells me the bartender won't make Cosmos. I'm stunned. So one of my seriously alcoholic buddies orders me a Cape Cod with an orange liqueur floater. Which is...a Cosmo. Just to see if the bartender will do it. Which he did. Laughed my ass off. *snort* What a yutz.

I got to admit, I'm not much of a mixed drink connoisseur; I just use the vodka as an octane booster.

Though when I was a chem lab assistant, we use to break in to the absolute alcohol stores and inject the stuff into oranges. Sort of ersatz screwdrivers.

PS: for the uninitiated, absolute alcohol is 200 proof.

Half the time I don't know or even ask what's in the stuff I drink. As long as it's vodka and something...I don't even know that I care.

I'm trying. It's just hard to figure out where I wanta go. There's all sorts of complicated interpersonal bullshit...plus waiting for the state of North Carolina to get their shit together and figure out they'd be stupid not to hire me, and at the top end of their hiring rangs no less. Between the boys and the jobs...this shit is too complicated without serious alcoholic lubrication some nights.

who played the pipes. He was a hoot. From Ireland. He introduced me to the "two hats" method of curing a cold. You take off your hat and put it on the end of the bed. 16. I am SO sorry...

I was in NC three weekends ago...I had a job interview out there and who knows...may be relocating if they ever get off their ass and make a decision.

Unfortunately DP and short bus didn't really feel up to seeing people or I would have had a gathering. We kept my visit kind of quiet. If I move out there I'll be sure to get all the NC DUers together to celebrate. :)
