Going fishing
Tomorrow is the fishing opener in Minnesota for walleye and northern pike. A friend of mine has invited me and my kid to join him on Lake Mille Lacs for our first ever season opening fishing expedition on one of the biggest lakes in the state.

We have to get up in a few hours and make our way there. Wish us luck.

3. Wow!
The biggest thing I've ever caught is a five and a half pound large mouth bass. Your brother caught a monster!

4. Yep!
He was one happy fisherman that day. Of course, it's all catch and release so who knows, maybe you'll get him this time around.

2. I'm jealous
Neither of my parents were willing to clean freashly caught fish. My mom's perspective was if you wanted to catch dinner she would throw a bologna sammich at you. And my dad could catch Orca the Killer Whale and say "let's throw it back and let it grow". Have fun.

5. My daughter wants to gut and clean fish

She considers it a key step in learning how to cook. The only problem is that only 1% of what we catch from the shore is ever worth keeping.
