My first sighting was yesterday at my Hummingbird feeder.
Now I know that spring is finally here! :woohoo:

1. Ours showed up Tuesday. They're busy fighting -- as usual
Even better, we have a pair of Blue Birds making babies.

I love this time of year - birds, butterflies, bees all doing their thing.

3. I believe that we have just one male so far
He's been at the feeder quite regularly. No sign of a female or another male, yet.
We also have a Rose-breasted Grosbeak

5. We had a pair Red Breasted Grossers stop in
Evening Grossers, Cardinals and a Northern Oriole. The place crawls with Gold Finches and Chickadees. All we need now is the Indigo Bunting and we'll have a Kodak moment.

7. We had an Indigo Bunting last year
...but no sign of one this year. They are a beautiful bird.

We have a pair of House Wrens that have decided to move in to a house in our garden. They are busy building as we speak.

We have a pair of Baltimore Orioles, and we are desperately trying to lure them to an Oriole feeder. We don't have much luck getting them to come any closer than the tall cherry tree in the corner of our yard. I love their song, just want them to come in a little closer.

:hi:

10. They just don't like me, sarge. Look.....

I see this as an Oriole feast. They're still snubbing me.

2. We enjoyed a pair all winter....
They guarded the feeder by chasing off all others rivals. Fascinating watching the male doing his mating flights to impress his girl early this spring. I believe they are now nesting close by because I still see them zipping around, but they have stopped using the feeder as there is a bounty in bloom around the neighborhood to feed on now.

4. How lucky you are
Ours leave by the second week in September.

No zipping as of yet. I love the mating rituals.

6. One of the small perks of living in the temperate Central Valley of California
The zipping dance is really neat, and I love that they announce it with their loud "peep!" that I can even hear indoors! "Quick, outside, the show is beginning" Mother Nature is really cool if you slow down to tune it in!

I should put out my feeder then.

I saw my first grosbeak of the season yesterday.

11. Get your feeders up!
They're here! My sister had one as early as a week ago. We just made our juice a couple of days ago. Mr Gen saw the little guy eating for the first time last night.

What garden store do you go to? I wish you were over on our side. We have a great little Mom and Pop operation that has some great stuff, reasonably priced. They wholesale so the prices are low.
