I need a hotel in NYC ... STAT!

Hi guys! Long story short, I came to NYC with my wife to visit a friend. He said he had a place for us to stay. Turns out he meant a futon couch and not a bed. While I have no problem crashing on a couch, it not something Im comfortable making my wife do, especially since its the size of a book of matches. So...I need a hotel room! Unfortunately I dont have time to sit in front of the computer to search out a good deal - we're leaving for the city in just a few minutes. I could just walk into the first place I see but we're on a tight budget and dont have $300 to drop. So...

Does anyone know of a good website that offers deals on hotel rooms? Can anyone recommend a place to stay in Manhattan? Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
