Today I learn how to post photos on DU...

As soon as my son comes over to show me how. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks? Then, I will forever burn my diabolical likeness into your souls.....

5. I tried to follow Skinner's directions on posting my photo in the Gallery, but could never get it to
work. I don't know why it is so difficult here. I have been at sites that asked you to download your picture and all you had to do was pick which picture you wanted and that was it. Even I could do it!!

6. It's pretty straightforward
Compared to other message boards I've used.

From the HTML Reference Lookup Table:
Images: No tags needed - just type the URL starting with http://
Images must be in gif or jpeg format

The caveat is that the picture must be hosted on the internets somewhere. You can sign up for free accounts at photobucket, imageshack or other image hosting sites. Tinypic.com is even easier in that you don't even need to register. Just use the browse button to find the pic on your hard drive, then hit the upload button. Once it's finished uploading, it will provide you with the address that you can cut/paste into a post.

19. They are Pembroke Welsh Corgis.
The one on the left is a tri-color male. The one on the right is a red and white female.

They are from the same breeder. His father is her grand-father!

10. I'm not sure I understand
Are you asking how to resize pics?

If so, I use ACDSee to edit all my pics but if you don't have an image editing program, you can use Paint which is available on all Windows machines:

To change the size of your picture
On the Image menu, click Attributes.
Under Units, click the unit of measurement you want to use for the width and height.
Type the measurements in Width and Height.

You can also resize your picture by dragging the image resize handles, located at the lower-right corner and along the bottom and right sides of your picture. (You might need to maximize the window to see the square resize handles.)
If your current picture is bigger than the new size, the picture is cut from the right side and bottom to fit within the smaller area. If your current picture is smaller than the new size, the extra area is filled with the selected background color.

20. Thanks... sorry for posting such a huge photo.
I didn't know how to re-size it... I was just happy that it actually showed up (on the second attempt)! I may even get good at this! LOL

11. You can resize them in Photobucket.
Just click the image in your album and it'll give you a bunch of options, one of them being Resize.
