Hmmmm, seems little Ms. Thang in our block fudges with the washer and dryer to get laundry cleaned for free.

I know because while waiting for her to do her 3 loads in a row (inconsiderate), I saw the metal instrument used for such a vile practice. ;) (on a previous occasion with another tenant long since gone, he showed me how to avert using coins, don't ask me why. I personally have always paid. )

Well, on the few occasions when little Ms. Thang has her friends over, they just always love to leave some small mess behind. Ms.Particular (me) hates this. Show respect for where I live, lazy slobs. That is why I don't care for her........only person here I don't like.

Anyhoo.....I was walking out of the laundry room with my stuff as the washing was still full. Ms.Thang walked back in.....ah ha, it's her.......hmmm, she knows I know. Dumbo left the metal do-hickey on the washer.

Shall I use my knowledge for good or evil?

7. well, I think I' d have to take some things into consideration
1. is she really poor?
2. would you be in fear for your life if she found out it was you that ratted her out?

I would think that there must be something that the land lord could do to make the washer and dryers tamper proof.

2. Assuming you live in a rental, I would suggest notifying the super
that you suspect an anonymous tenant of doing the evil deed, as you observed some suspicious behavior but couldn't be sure who it was doing it.

I'm a sneaky little one, I am...

5. Many considerations...
Does she know you know? Retribution may be painful. Do you have proof? What do the other tennants think? Will they back you or her? Is she poor? If that's the case I would definitely let it go. Remember you have to live there.:hi:

8. It is a small building........
yes, have the proof........my own eyes. :) I don't think the others neighbours would know or even care. :)

Her guests better behave or ouch. :) I'm taking the noble route for now, (ha ha) so her friends better not toss their butts near my window, or whatever, and then I won't say anything. :)

Just another thing, what does poor have to do with it? :) It's dishonest. I paid for my own laundry when I was young and starting out.......if you can't pay for your laundry, wash it by hand. :)

9. I just have...
strong empathy for the poor because of the way they are treated in this country. You are right though, illegal is illegal.

16. I wouldn't go so far as "illegal is illegal"
I think your empathy for the poor is a very good thing, and I too would turn a blind eye for a person truly in need. However, messing with the laundry room is a good way to lose this valuable resource for other tenants, and I'd be pissed at a neighbor who was 'trashing the commons' or causing problems for the landlord...

11. well as you can't prove it, i wouldn't use it, you don't actually have useful knowledge
your "proof" is you say you saw something, and something relatively minor in the scheme of things, at that

i wouldn't get a reputation as a trouble maker carrying a useless story like that, which the other person will just deny

get the activity on videocam or something and then you can tattle if you must, personally, i wouldn't bother

if all of the other tenants or many of the other tenants are doing the same thing, as i suspect, since another tenant tried to show you how, all you are going to do is make yourself highly unpopular w. everyone, a great way to crap where you eat if you ask me

17. yes, only one washer......
and she set her dryer to dry for an extra long 90 minutes instead of 50......so yes, inconsiderate. waiting hours!

Just do a couple of loads.....that's proper laundry room etiquette.

18. She left the metal do-hicky behind?
How do you prove that it was hers? You got played. You rat her out and she'll say it was yours and you're harassing her. She'll get her buddies to say they saw you using it.

You should nurture this bit of information, knowing you have it at your disposal for an appropriate time of your own choosing...

or...just let it go...
