I did something (evidently) very stupid I did last night. Ask me anything.

After hearing my sisters' reactions, I'm not sure I should tell anyone, though.

I expected hilarity. After all, they know me very well. I really expected them to crack up and say "well, what else would you do?"

Instead of laughing, were speechless at first, then they said, "I can't believe you did that." They both wanted to hear what the docs & nurses said in the E.R. (this was their assumption, because they do know me very well, but I did not require medical attention). They stopped just short of using the word "stupid," but I know they would've said that if they weren't afraid of hurting my feelings.

My closest sister was almost completely speechless. My eldest sister said it reminded her of one of Mrs. V.'s favorite sayings: The famous last words of a redneck: Hey, ever'body! Watch this!

The thing is, I saw what I did as the only sure way to answer a question that both Mrs. V. and I have been very curious about. And it worked -- we got the answer.

Question for you: Have you ever done something so abjectly stupid that people around you were dumbstruck?

I thought I had shot through a hole. But then I looked closely at the shoe -- there is a dent where the BB hit.

Through this thick soft plastic, it hurt that much . . . jesus!

I was shot at point blank on an ass cheek by a friend of mine with a BB gun fully pumped. Didn't even break through my jeans. Hurt like hell though . Not much worse than a paintball really. I think the paintball hurt even more, to tell you the truth. :hi:
