Problems with Dell account |
|
Yes, I know, Dell is evil, but I have an account with them that I pay. I'm having two major issues. The big one is that, for whatever reason, they have my dad's social security number associated with my account. We have fairly unique last names and my dad did request financing a while ago, so I can see how it could have happened. My dad thinks I used his SSN, but try and tell him it ain't so... he won't believe me. But obviously, I would like to get this matter resolved. Any ideas?
Secondly, I was contacted last week from a Dell rep in India who told me the account was past due. Apparently, they did not annotate a payment (I pay bills through my bank online). She annotated it and I was given a reference number.
Then, today another doofus from India calls me and tells me the account is $297 past due!!! I gave him the reference number. He said it was too short. WTF? Then I kept telling him I have a copy of a bill payment to Dell, with reference number. I was on line for a while, so he could speak to his supervisor. Then, he comes back on and makes his same point (ie, account is past due), and then hangs up.
What can I do? Can I speak to someone in the US about this?

1. And it's Americans who are said to be stupid by these corporate folks. |

:( Did they come across as angry and arrogant? If so, how angry and arrogant did they come across? http://www.dell.com/content/topics/global.aspx/support/dellcare/en/contact_us?c=us&l=en&s=genYou might be able to e-mail them. I'd go through sales support as they will likely have Americans who might be able to forward you to someone proper about your complaint.
