I don't generally do On-call

but the officer whose turn it is has been so burnt out by the last 4 nights that I am doing it tonight. It's the last line in the job description "other duties as assigned by the Chief Inspector".

I don't handle late nights well anymore, I didn't sleep well last night and have a class 3 migraine due to a change in the weather.

So, your various formulations of white light, please.

May the cars avoid the raccoons, may the people not beat their dogs, may the geese take care of their goslings and may all the other ills that can befall animals in the middle of the night give me a break.

Oh, and may the crazies pick someone else to harass tonight.

So far 1 gosling and one stray dog. I don't do stray dogs, that's animal control, and they can't deal with it when the nimrod doesn't leave a contact number.

That is a tough kind of job to have. I did it for about 2 months at a humane society and then couldn't hack it anymore.
