OMG My usual train just crashed (I was on an earlier one)
I always always always take the 5:14 Express, but today, the 5:05 Local was 5 minutes late, and I was 5 minutes early, so the 5:05 Local it was.

And the 5:14 crashed, and people were taken to the hospital. I just got a call from someone asking if I was okay, and checked it out on the web, and there were pictures of people on stretchers.

I'm going to go get a drink....

11. Well, I also found out today that I'm NOT due in for jury duty
because I got called 18 months ago, I guess.

So, yes, maybe more than one pinot grigot!

13. Yup! That was me! (or rather, that WASN'T me)

Just missed it.

Plus it was a big ole mess for the next hour or so. I didn't realize there were 30 injuries - initial reports said 12.

15. Thanks sweetie!
Wow, now that I'm reading more recent reports, it seems more people were injured. They always say "don't ride in the first or last car". I always ride the first car in and the last one out. In this case I probably would have been perfectly fine - I almost always ride in the last car on the way home, and the injuries were probably in the first car...

Thanks for checking in, JRB!

16. Thanks IHAD. Not a major catastrophe, but still
you always feel so safe on the train - I used to drive an hour to work, and saw accidents all the time. Very rare to have anything very severe on the commuter trains...

Glad you chose a good path for your afternoon. You'll be stopping in your tracks (sorry) and shaking your head over this one for a LOOOONNNG time.

Went right from home to go for a walk, and didn't even know what happened until I got that phone call "Are you alright - we heard about that crash". Huh?

20. Always scary when something like that happens.
Your usual train, but not only were you not on it you weren't trying to take a later train either.
Lucky twice today, Patiod.
Cheers.
