Custodian Finds Goat Chained To Principal's Parking Space (14 Chickens, 4 Pigeons Injured)
<snip>

MASSILLON -- A baby goat is recovering at Stump Hill farm after being the butt of a poorly executed joke.

"They do have feelings, not feelings like people but they do hurt and when they're taken out of their element it hurts," farm owner Cyndy Huntsman said.

The goat, 14 chickens, and 4 pigeons were injured early Monday at Washington high school in Massillon. A custodian found the goat chained to the principal's parking spot.

"You can still see where students spray painted goat on the side, and this chain was found around its neck, the goat almost hung itself."

"The chain was tightly padlocked around his neck and an official had to use bolt cutters to get it off."

One pigeon died during the hoax and several chickens were found bleeding and in distress.

"When birds feathers break off they bleed, unless you pull out from body, they can bleed to death."

More than 1,300 students attend Washington high, and principal Mark Fortner says the majority are good kids. This prank was the work of a few misguided seniors in the class of 2007.

"Our seniors are excited about graduating and sometimes like to leave a token of appreciation," Fortner said.
