Rant: Red's Emporium
Seems like every time I get on DU I see a thread for Red's Emporium. Buy this, buy that. MAybe it shouldn't but it bothers me. If Red's wants to use DU as a market place I wish they would buy some ad space.
One of the big reasons I watch little TV is the commercials. I don't mind the advertisers along the margins. I can choose to ignore them. But I feel a little burned when I click on what looks to be a legitimate thread and it turns out to be a commercial.
And I do not mind DUers recommending stuff through a thread. It just seems that Red's Emporium is pushing the limits.
If I get shot for this I am sorry. But avoiding unwanted commercials is one of the beauties of the internet.

1. I guess
you could put them on ignore. You can also turn off the Google ads since you have a star by clicking "options" and then "edit preferences" and scroll down to the bottom..."Display Google ads"

btw, have you seen the magazines they sell at Red's Emporium? j/k
