Should I be angry over the new Bionic Woman?
Or should I give it a chance?

Normally I'd immediately stay away but this one is from David Eick (Battlestar Galactica) and Glen Morgan (The X Files).

I just don't know.

1. I don't know
It seems to me that original ideas are extinct in hollywood.
I will watch the first one to see if I like it

3. I'd normally pass it over
but a few of the minds behind it have piqued my interest.

They did very well retelling BSG-maybe I should give it a shot.

Then again I didn't care for the show years ago.

2. I'm not sure.
Apart from 'The Brady Bunch Movie', there's not a single remake or reinvention that has come across well.

This could be a second miracle.

OTOH, what's so wrong with the original that it has to be remade? Sell it on DVD in America; and think of something else to do. Heck, they can hire me. :D

5. I don't know.
They did a nice job with Battlestar. It really wasn't the same show.

I suspect that is the route they will take w/ this one. Problem is I was never a fan the first time.

I was more concerned w/ being Wonder Woman or one of Charlie's Angels instead of pretending to be Jamie Sommers.

8. Ah
I'm a fan of the original (Lindsay Wagner was rather good casting) and, obviously, I've never been keen on remakes. Especially when the original Bionic Woman wasn't as campy as Battlestar Galactica was. Which is ironic, the way the original BSG took itself seriously; it was ahead of its time...

9. I'm almost never keen on remakes.
I gave BSG a chance only because it was something on at the time. (Seems like there wasn't much else on at the same time and I quickly became hooked.)

I hated BW but I loved the original BSG, even w/ dorky-assed Noah Hathaway as an annoying brat.

6. I didn't like the original at all
and I was a child when it came on-perfect show for me to like.

I preferred Charlie's Angels or Wonder Woman. Not once did I ever pretend to be Jamie-the mark of a great show for a kid.

Hell, I once pretended to be Marie Osmond because someone had the fake teeth.

7. Because of BSG I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt
The woman that plays Starbuck on BSG will be in it playing a bad guy.

10. I didn't know she was going to be on it.
I knew that Molly Price from Third Watch was on there. (I used to dispatch on second and third shift-Third Watch was a show the entire dept would watch together and call each other after.)

22. She's still listed on imdb
but only for the pilot episode. I think the character's name was listed on there too.

They are often wrong but it wouldn't surprise me if they asked her to film at least one episode, especially since this is an NBC show.

15. And you're back just in time for
what promises to be some fantastic digs at the summer television season.

Did you see that they have made flippin' bingo into a tv show? Worse yet is that my daughter wants to watch it.

16. I can't say much about television
ever since my bedroom almost burned down, I haven't bothered to buy a new one. Everything I want to watch, i download, so even the little (relatively) amount of tv I do watch has all the ads stripped out. That "Head on-apply directly to forehead" thing everyone was bitching about it, I only finally saw that at matcom's house. And that was their own spoof version.

Bingo, right. I work for a company that does Virtual Reality, extremely similar to what SecondLife is making all the noise about, but inside our systems we have lots of different games. Chess, Checkers, Bingo, and a few others. Our Bingo zone is one of the most popular. Get this.

People log in, connect to a full 3D world, where anything is possible. Then they park themselves behind a large bingo card that's one of many organized in a square around the center of the ground. It's crazy! There's all this STUFF to do, but they're happier talking and watching for the robot to announce the next winner. Well, maybe it's not that crazy, but still.

21. Someitmes I wish I could get rid of my television
but that's how they announce school closings around here.

And the bingo crap is ridiculous. I won't play crap like that online if I can do something better.

And I won't be surprised if that show becomes the next big thing. It's dumb so it should be a hit.

19. I was always into the Bionic Woman, back in the day.
mostly b/c they filmed it in my hometown: Ojai, CA! :bounce: Very cool.

I don't know anything about the new and improved Bionic Woman show, but I'm amused by the thought.

It's certainly NOT worth getting angry about it. :D :hi:

I hope they do the show as shittily as they did the first one, with all the same awful sound effects and cocaine-addled scripting.

25. If Seven of Nine could kick her ass
then Caprica Six will just blow her ass up.

That's the only good thing about the original show-crappy sound effects, slo-mo running, etc. I enjoy what they did to BSG and I know one of the executive producers works on BSG but I have to wonder if the show won't be ruined.

Of all shows, why the Bionic Woman?

Please, PLEASE shut off your TV and find another hobby.

Just some friendly advice.

28. The tv is not on that often.
But chances are my kid will want to watch it and I'll have to hear about it all season.

And it would give me something to actually talk about with my brother. He only watches sci-fi and fantasy-anything else and he'll ignore you.

35. The longer they stay on the line
the more money I make. The more I make the more school clothes I can buy for my kid, the more activities she can be involved in, etc.

It's always good to have something else to talk about and hold off on other things until later.
