Melt-Banana is a Japanese noise rock band that was founded in 1992 by friends attending Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. These friends were Onuki Yasuko (also known as Yasuko O. or just Yako), Agata Ichirou, Rika mm' and later on Toshiaki Sudoh (more widely known as simply Sudoh).

They are pretty weird,but I love 'em! They're catchier now than their early stuff would suggest,and the guitarist is a madman.He wrangles sounds out of a guitar that I've never hear before...and that's saying something.

4. How is it? Bummer about cancelling their tour.

The wife and I wanted to see them in June. Or maybe they just cancelled the Cleveland date?

5. The CD is excellent...I have no news about the tour being cancelled.

As recently as last week it was still a go,with them supporting Tool for a number of shows during the tour.I don't see Cleveland on this tour list,but they are playing Columbus and Cincinnati on the 14th and 15th of June.Might be a long trip but they are great live.I can't see them on the 11th here in Boston because of health issues or I'd be front and center again. :(
