What political issue do you wish you cared more about?
Edited on Tue May-15-07 11:14 PM by Heaven and Earth
Mine is non-U.S. politics in general. I wish I could make time each morning to read international news or watch the BBC in the evening. You?

1. Environment.
Not that I don't care about it, but because I'm not as well-versed in it as I should be, particularly considering its importance.

7. Same here.
I do what I can for the environment, but talking about it just doesn't get me very excited, like voting issues and such does.

3. I'm definitely going to get creamed for this:
The War.

I want it to end, but I'm just not as worked up over it as I am about a lot of other things.

I'm not going to elaborate, or I will sound like an asshole.

5. The war is a huge bummer
but it's snakes on a plane.

Everyone in the US knows how they feel about it, and everyone knows the current administration doesn't give a shit about what we think.

Also, and I really deserve to be flamed for this, but if you join the military, you do so with the understanding that you may get sent someplace to fight for something you don't believe in, and you may die doing so. It's the simple truth about war. Everyone on the American side who has died in this war either believed in the supposed cause, or joined the military not really believing that they could be sent to die for something stupid. Either way, they're really naive.

There's a lot of stuff that citizens can do stateside (or internationally) that we CAN make a difference about. The war isn't one of them.

6. Jerry Falwell's death
Before GD dedicated itself exclusively to that topic, I never realized how important it was

8. Federal deficit.
I know it's important but I don't pay as much attention to it as I should.
