When I lived in Coastal NC, we had HUGE Palmetto/water bugs --- ie flying roaches the size of mice.

on my dining room table all night. She promised the mouse wouldn't hurt me.

BIG FUCKING BUGS!! We've got them too!, but at least NYC roaches can't fly.

Maybe what I saw the other day was a freakin' bug. I don't even know. I think it moved to slow for a mouse....but still moved too fast for me to catch it.

Try rounding a turn at full speed on your mountainbike and seeing a log across the trail. But, oh wait...as you get within 25 feet, you realize that tis an alligator in front of you.

I see him sunning himself in the afternoon, but when he sees me, he slithers back underneath. They seem to coexist just fine. Just a harmless garter snake.
