2. But THAT much younger? She seemed entirely genuine.
She was the cashier at the restaurant where Mr. LIW, littlest LIW and I went for lunch. I paid her with a credit card, and my husband jokingly said to her that I'm not old enough to have a credit card.

"And yet I've managed to have them for over 22 years," I ribbed him right back.

The cashier went on with what she was doing, stopped after a few seconds, and gave me a quizzical look.

"What did you say?" she asked.

"I said I've had credit cards for over 22 years."

She leaned in closer, looked at me, and her eyes widened.

"No way," she whispered.

I told her I'll be 41 next month.

She told me she had a friend who looks just like me, describing her friend's "pretty, young-looking skin."

"Whatever you're doing," she said, "Keep on doing it!" She told me she would have guessed me in my mid-twenties.

I often get people who think I'm in my thirties, but it's been years since someone mistook me for a twenty-something.
