9. Funny Story

When I was a kid, growing up in Mexico, the only grape soda we had was grapette:

But it didn't taste like any grape I had ever tasted, so I was absolutely convinced this was an artificial flavor that had nothing to do with real grapes.

Welch's grape jelly was the same thing; tasted like grapette, and not like any other grapes I ever had.

Then I move to New England, bought a house that had concord grape vines in the back yard and, Oh my God! When those vines are full of grape clusters, they smell and taste exactly like Welch's grape jelly and grapette!

This is a real, honest to goodness natural flavor! I had no idea.

I don't normally drink pop of any type (my preference in unsweet tea, coffee, and water), but I as intrigued about Jones. There was a half-open can of Jones at a party I attended, so I iced a couple of ounces in curiosity. I enjoyed and savored the clean, crisp taste that only cane sugar could provide as compared to that HFCS crap polluting beverages.

If I was a pop drinker, I'd go for some again!
