Wrens are making a nest in box on my porch.
I don't think it's a good place for a nest. We have neighbor cats that come up there in the middle of the night. Plus, it's just an old box with some bubble wrap in it, my wife is probably going to throw it out or move it in a couple of days.

I feel bad about evicting them though. I have been watching them bring materials for the nest all morning and then disappear into he box. I hate to just move the nest then have one of them come back to it looking all clueless like, "Hey! Where the fuck is my nest!"

I also don't want them to continue in their effort if ultimately we are going to evict them.

What should I do?

Like I said, cats come up here on the porch and I'm sure they would find the nest.

1. Let natural selection run its course.

2. Move it now, before they get too far along.
It's kind o' traumatic finding baby bird parts all over the place.

3. I agree
move it now, and they'll have time to build another one in a better place.

4. It's not "moveable"
They have incorporated a big chunk of bubble wrap into the nest. Just went out and looked at it.

6. Too late.
I already dismantled it. I figured I should do that so they can find a more suitable place. The cats would have gotten it, definetly. The wren came back and let out a very loud call, I don't know if it was a call of sorrow or of warning. I feel like shit.

7. What are you gonna do?
Maybe you saved them...I'm sure they can build some where else.
