12. I'm better off than my cousin, at least...
I just found out today that he's got one of those staph infections that doesn't respond to the typical antibiotics. He has an abscess next to his spinal cord. Yikes!

18. They don't know...
He hasn't been hospitalized for anything. He collapsed at home, then started going into a seizure. After going through the 911 routine, they transferred him to another hospital with a neurologist who knows how to to deal with these kinds of things.

My cousin told his sister that he felt when he collapsed, that he was close to death. He's making arrangements to have a will drawn up...

Unfortunately, my cousin has a history of drug addiction. I'm afraid he's going to need rehab after he's done with his hospital stay; because they had to dope him up pretty heavily to control the pain.
Poor guy's in for a rough time...

20. Hopefully, just detox
to get him off the narcotics

doubt that he'd need rehab for that

medical detox and back to his life, unless his infection is from drug use then maybe he needs rehab?

He has a nice family and a good job. I doubt he'd risk it to go back to jail...

24. My DSL server decided to stop serving DSL
They gave me all of 2 weeks notice to find another server. Then it took almost 3 weeks to get hooked up with Earthlink. :-(

It's probably just as well, though; because I've been horrifically busy for the last month. I really haven't had much time to go online anyway.

How've you been?

25. we had something similar happen
our independent/ techy DSL basically went kaput for 2 weeks, and my husband the software gee, was ripping his hair out. Then we got Comcast, and that lasted about a week (since it doesn't work sometimes and they tell you to pull out the plug and plug it back in!) Needless to say, that wasn't going to fly either. So now we have the Verizon cyber DSL and it's worked fine.

actually, I agree that it is good not to have DSL all the time!

as for real life, school will be out soon, and I am going away to Chicago next weekend, alone! So I am looking forward to some fun without the menfolk! I love Chicago and their great museums. Otherwise, it's been work, house stuff and school volunteering. We had a cool lunch for our kid's teachers at the school and that was fun.

:hi:

28. My brother told me that Comcast
has been dropping customers with high download volume...like people who download a lot of movies, etc. So much for "unlimited service"!

Chicago sounds great! I hope you have a wonderful time!

I'm going to plan one of those just-me weekends soon. I need to get my violin cleaned up and checked over; and I really need time away from the mom thing. :-)
