classic movies, re-enacted in 30 seconds, by bunnies. Hint: "War of the Worlds", "Highlander", "Alien" and "The Shining" are my personal favorites.

I'm ok, and I hope you are that, or better!

Once one of my house mates and I were concerned that one of the two household kitties was making a sort of squealing, wheezing sound ...hairball?...from downstairs. Upon tiptoeing downstairs to locate the source of the sound, we nearly burst out laughing when we determined that our rather new house mate had a young girlfriend in his room and, well, I'll let you guess what the sound was...

15. I'm up at 2 AM because I can't sleep because the pain in my shoulder is like someone
stabbing it with a hot soldering iron, and no amount of narcotics will even take the edge off the pain.

If you're up this late because of something else, maybe this information will help you feel good by comparison.

30. Ack! Airplanes are second only to hospitals for good places to get infected. Here's my cold cure:
Take a pint glass (or the metric equivalent).

Fill halfway with Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey (or brandy will do if you're in Europe).

Fill remainder of glass with orange juice. Drink.

The orange juice will provide the Vitamin C you need, and the booze will knock you out so you get the sleep you need to heal.

I'll be better in a day or two, thank you; the problem tonight is that it's 38 degrees (or the metric equivalent) out tonight and raining, which always guarantees that I'll have a case of The Miseries.

But hey, it ain't cancer or a heart problem, so I'll live.

36. Well, that's because most of it does taste like paint thinner. The secret is to drink
the medicinal concoction REALLY FAST. Not only to get past the taste, but also because it knocks you onto your ass that much more quickly.

And sleep is the Great Healer, as you know.

then as CMW or my mother-in-law to pick up some paint thinner grappa for me. If I combine grappa with an evening of watching "Dr. Zhivago" on DVD, I could probably sleep until Sunday. :7

35. Two failed surgeries. The first caused the problem that the second was supposed to correct,
and the second didn't. So I'm left with nerve damage and RSD. It's been a ten-year journey since the surgeries, with the original damage going back to 1972.

Thanks for asking.

Didn't want to sound like I was complaining, or making light of the fact that you got de Blues tonight. Just that nights like tonight, I tend to bitch and moan.

You don't need no doctor for relationship stuff. Only time. And sympathy from your DU pals, which never seems to be in short supply; great bunch of folks around here.

44. It's just about midnight here...
And I've got a touch of insomnia. I've been so exhausted all day everyday for the past couple weeks because I have trouble sleeping at night but it seems like the minute the clock strikes 10:00 p.m., I'm wide awake and full of energy. I got tired of laying in bed watching old Sanford & Son episodes so I decided to come see what was going on here at DU.

And no, I don't work nights. I've got to be at work tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m.

48. Watching Redd Foxx would keep me awake, because I'd be laughing so hard. I remember,
back in the 1960s (I'm old) listening to his "party records" in which he really cut loose; it would have been good if he had lived long enough to do his standup stuff on cable TV...

Hope things level off for you soon.

I love the show. By this point, I've seen every episode at least 4 or 5 times but I still watch it, if not for the comedy, but for the nostalgia factor.

I'll be fine though. I'll have the house all to myself this weekend and I plan to spend a LOT of time napping throughout the day.

40. yikes...I have hot pokers in my new back hardware
hurts like a bitch, but I swear I am not opening up the package of Fentenyal patches...I'm trying to get by with Norco, Vicodin, Gabapenten, and muscle relaxers. I came home form the hospital wearing a patch but I was having such wringing wet sweats. Not that I minded loosing the 10 lbs but in a week I had that heroin abuser look with the hollow eyes and dark circles. Not attractive.

45. I did the Fentanyl patches for a while, until I found out that the side effect if you
tear one by accident is that you stop breathing and die.

I'll take the pain instead, thank you very much.

But let's talk about YOU for a minute. If the patch was giving you the sweats, the dosage was too strong. Be VERY careful, please.

And the "hardware?" A scoliosis rod, if you don't mind me asking? I know a coupld of women who have had those put in, and from what I understand, it's excruciating.

I do hope you get better soon, and after hearing what you're going through, I'll stop pissing and moaning about my little problem right now.
