1. Your friend and mine, Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wonder_Woman%27s_bracelets

The bracelets of the Amazons were forged from near-indestructable "amazonium."
But Wonder Woman's in particular were crafted from Aegis, the mythical shield of Greek hero Perseus.

2. hmmmm
If "amazonium" is nearly indestructable, how do they forge it?

5. I thought those were grown, rather than forged
(oh, geez, not another comic book thread!)

let me see...
back in the early 90's, Marvel Comics Presents ran a series about Wolverine's origin. I believe the adamantium was actually bonded to his bones by dissolving it in some solution first and growing it there like a crystal. The claws were an unforseen side effect.

i never realized what a comic geek I was.....

6. Right. Weapon X. I remember the series.
I don't remember the exact origin of the claws though. I've got all the Weapon X comics. Next time I visit my parents, I'll drag'em out of the attic and check it out :)

(OK, OK. I won't.)

7. I thinkit gains its indestructability through a carefully controlled
annealing process. The metal is workabls until the quench "sets in" the indestructability. ;)
