Be careful what you wish for
I don't have a TV. Generally I don't miss it, except once a year when the snooker world championships come round. (That's a game like pool but with a much larger table and different rules). So, I thought I'd be SMART this year, and ask my mum to record the final and burn it on to some DVDs for me.

The snooker world final is the best of 35 frames. It takes two days to play. She gave me nine discs. :o

Know what I'll be doing for the next MONTH.

17. A frame is one clearance of the table
Or, a clearance so far as there are not enough points left on the table for the other player to be able to win. When the balls are reracked, that is a new frame.

18. It's a fun game
I used to hate it because the snooker world championships always meant no Star Trek on tv for two weeks. :grr:

But nowadays I get a kick out of watching it on the TV. Which is odd, since it's such an unspectacular game. :)

:P

Now I should watch some coverage of the first test of the cricket season ;)

26. I love the game
but I could not, in all honesty, claim it was spectacular to behold. At least with cricket you can crack the ball over the boundary for six.

27. Boundaries in cricket are boring
they get in the way of discussions about pigeons on the out-field and cakes sent by ladies who live in Tunbridge Wells. :eyes:

But we're actually doing rather well at the moment, so I'm a bit nervous - wouldn't do for us to win matches...

No other country could possibly have invented cricket. And that is neither a good nor bad thing. It's just a thing. :D
