or anyone else who can answer...

I seem to be sprouting sunflower seeds in the mulch under my bird feeder. Just as an experiment I transplanted 5 into the back of my garden. Will they grow into flowers? Or are bird seed grade sunflower seeds somehow deficient? :shrug:

1. i take sun flower seeds out of our guinea pig's food bag and they grow into beautiful flowers

course Bob doesn't really appreciate it but they still look pretty.

I've never had luck growing sunflowers from packaged seed, so I was curious when these suckers started sprouting.

3. the cool thing about taking them from bird or rodent chow--you never know

what color sunflowers you're going to get, we got orange ones and Burgundy ones and some yellow one.
