Here I am, somewhere in Tenneessee.
Cool.
Day 1 of the road trip to Boston.
Made 500 miles to Knoxville.

First time traveling with my laptop.
AND IT WORKS!!!
Right here in the Days Inn.
Cheap, but nice enough and our room is 2 doors from the ice machine.
:toast:

Easy day. Nobody seriously tried to kill us on the road.
God, there are a lot of really stupid drivers out here.

Bought my first $3.00 gas.
Doesn't seem to be much better than the buck and a half stuff I used to burn.
;-)

Tomorrow...SCRANTON!
YeeHaa!!!!

2. People won't try to kill you on the road
until you get into Massachusetts.

Enjoy your trip!

6. You are correct, Sir
I have not. :hide:

However, having traveled extensively from Rochester, NY to RI several times a year, I know the moment I'm in Massachusetts by the Massholes driving around me. This extends into my home state of RI, of course, where directionals are optional and it's every man/woman for themselves.

9. TN drivers no great shakes.
Some have NO idea of relative speeds, closure rates, etc.

She's (as I found out later) beginning to loom large (in her SUV, which in and of itself doesn't make you a bad person...necessarily ;-)) in my rear view mirror.
I'm doing 80 in a 70 zone.
I pull into the right lane to let her pass.

She loom a bit larger in the left mirror.
And then...DOESN'T.
And now looms SMALLER.
SHE HAS SLOWED DOWN.

I pull back into the left lane to get around a string of trucks.
Eff her.
Now she can pass me as best she can.
:grr:

13. I HATE THAT!!!!!!!
Sometimes people are just annoying as hell. I am very conscious of my speed, I don't have cruise control but I keep it within 3mph of my target speed. I hate asswipes that vary their speed so much that you end up having a passing contest with them for miles upon miles. Worse yet, I hate it when people drive right along with you no matter what you do. If you slow down they do too, if you speed up they are right there with you. I usually end up pulling off for a break when those idiots are around.

7. I Have 3 requirements for a hotel/motel room:
1. King size bed.
2. Ashtrays.
3. Near the ice machine.

Also, drive up first floor is good.
And cable.
And I guess now...internet hookup.
;-)

10. What good is cable TV with those "motel tv's"?
I was sorely disappointed my last stay at a hotel. You get used to 50" of hi-def television set at home and they expect you to be comfortable with a 19"er???????? I paid 75 dollars for one freaking night at a "days inn". For that kind of money I expect a larger TV set.

but it *really* needs to make a comeback.
TN drivers multi-tasking...:scared:
