Prom is tonight and my daughters dress is still not done
Its close. I finished stiching the D rings on the bustier in place and she needs to put on the straps.
Lots of drama happening in the munkee house.

1. You have my sympathy and
I'll send you good vibes.

The day of my daughter's prom - she'd not tried on the dress since she bought it. When she put it on that afternoon(at my insistence, I might add) - it was suddenly TOO BIG. She'd lost some weight - not much, but enough to be a problem - especially with a strapless, ya know?

Unfortunately, I'm not much of a seamstress so I took off to the cleaners/tailor's where and BEGGED them to do a quickie alteration. TA-DA! Whew. It was a close one. So yeah, I understand the drama. Tell her to go take a long soak in the tub.

Good luck! Take lots of pics!!!

4. I'm the dad.
Mom doesn't sew.
Had to make some mashed potatoes for the potluck too. I'm also supplying a keg, of root beer.

Sorry seemunkee.
It's probably still her mother's fault too because she doesn't sew.

on edit: the funny thing is, I've checked your profile before and should have remembered you're male. D'oh!

8. Its her design and she had the fabric in plenty of time
Which I have received an eyeroll for reminder of that fact.

3. Certainly can relate on some level...
...but not last minute sewing, because I simply can't sew.

My daughter attended so many proms -- boyfriend was from another school. Last year was our last. By her senior year all the girls that were the same size just borrowed from each other instead of going out and buying new.

The hair, shoes, makeup, and the flowers -- it's almost like a dry run for a wedding.

Good luck to you, and enjoy this special day with your daughter!

My daughter is the first girl on the left
