And trust me....I did experience a fair amount of rain...

One day I didn't have either my jacket or my umbrella......it was memorable!

But for the most part, the weather is really good!

I'll bet your pics and mine will have a LOT of overlapping!

Berlin has changed a LOT in the last 13 years--just see what's become of Potsdamer Platz. What part of town are you staying in? Wilmersdorf?
Charlottenburg? Mitte? Each neighborhood is practically a city to itself.

But one thing my wife (who is German) swears by is going out to Potsdam
and the area around the old Sans Souci castle. I get to Berlin every few
monthes or so (just a 4 hour train ride now with the fast ICE tracks
completed).

Although we mostly are in Germany, we are now on a 5 day trip to the States
for our daughter's graduation from GWU in Washington, so we'll miss you in
Germany. We arrive back in Germany Wednesday afternoon, and will spend that
afternoon recovering in our Düsseldorf house before taking up the real world
again.

Breakfast with Helen Thomas this coming Monday morning! A little bonus for being
in the neighborhood!

As for food in Berlin, for a treat, if you don't know them, try a döner kebap
at one of the small Turkish places that are everywhere around the city. There
is also a great Indian place about a ten minute taxi ride from the Potsdamer
Platz in the East of the city, but I forget its name, other that it's short and
starts with an "A"

As to Berlin...I'm not sure where we are......

Our hotel is the Hilton Berlin, so I think we're pretty close to the center of town...

We did go through Sans Souci and Cecilienhof Palace yesterday!

Soooo much amazing history along with wonderful architecture!

I myself took a two week tour of Germany and Austria ten years ago now (that long ago!), in June of 1997. I am glad I had a chance to do so at least once in my life. I would like to do so again, when my life and job circumstances are better.

I have very fond memories of my trip.
