yummmmmy, especially if you like coconut. :-)

Anyone else use coconut oil? I hear it's healthy.

1. i dont think coconut oil is particularly healthy but it goes great with some foods
coconut oil is used in india to condition hair

2. I did, due to the health claims
raised my cholesterol, even though the health food industry claimed it wouldn't.

I stopped, my dr rechecked it a few months later, and it was back where it should be. I didn't change anything in my diet except for stopping the coconut oil

It may not raise it for everyone, but it's something to be aware of. :hi:

5. I like it! It's healthier than (hydrogenated) margarine or butter.
I don't know about the cholesterol aspect, but while it is high in saturated fat it is "short chain" fat (or something like that, I'm at work with no reference materials) which essentially means that what you don't burn off will not convert into stored fat.

Excellent for popping popcorn. :9

6. Oh it's not healthy.
But it is very good in some dishes. I sometimes use it for stir fry. I also use it to grease the pan for white cake or bibinka.

It's really good for popping popcorn, too.
