2. The "Miracle" of Life
Seriously, seeing a vagina stretch to expel a baby head is pretty frightening for a little kid. Though pretty good birth control. :)

4. Go Ask Alice
Like a damn soap opera - it was all we could do to keep from laughing all the way through it. Couldn't wait to get out of class and get stoned. :smoke:

10. How about "Phoebe"
It was about a pregnant teenage girl and basically dealt with agoniziing over how to tell her parents and her boyfriend. Most of it was her imagining different scenarios. It also came from a book.

How about "The Red Balloon"?

5. Johnny Tremaine...
As a kid, I was NOT a history buff and learning about the Revolutionary War at that time was like watching paint dry. I'd definitely find it more interesting these days.

6. "Your Changing Body" or something like that.
Periods, pit hair and pubes. Boobs, body hair, better not flush the pads. Gotcha. Did we really need to go to another class with a female teacher and sit on the floor just to hear all that?

The following year we got to stay with our own teacher and he explained interesting stuff like the structure inside breasts and phases of pregnancy and stuff like that. And we didn't have to watch the video. :woohoo:

8. I had to watch The Quiet War in wiretapping school
The Quiet War is the worst Army training film ever made. It makes USS VD: Ship of Shame look like Citizen Kane.

An American Army Officer called another installation on a Nonsecure Line to tell them he was going to put the Ultra Secret Army Apparatus That Will Really Get Those Rooskies Now in the back seat of his convertible and drive it over a mountain pass to the other installation. Unfortunately for the American Army Officer, there was a Soviet Spy (they made him look just like a swarthy commie secret spy, too, complete with ugly clothes) sitting in a pickup camper right below his base's microwave tower. The Soviet Spy sent his buddies out to block the road, stopped the American Army Officer, stole the thing in the back seat, dumped gas all over the guy's nice convertible, set it on fire and shoved it over a 10,000-foot cliff.

After they buried what was left of the American Army Officer, his brother (who conveniently was also an American Army Officer) went to the Army Security Agency company on base to ask him how this could possibly have happened...and they LET HIM LISTEN TO RAW INTERCEPT!!! Which violates AR 380-5, AR 380-53, common sense, the Geneva Conventions and DOD Regulation 4340.1, as well as the Cub Scout Motto and the 4-H Creed.

It meant we got to watch a movie/filmstrip through class and did no actual classwork. No pop quizzes, either.

13. Night in Fog
or something like that. Holocaust film clips. I don't remember what class it was, cuz I don't remember that any history classes discussed the Holocaust. It was a shocker for this rural/suburban little Lutheran girl.

14. A really chopped-up edit of Naughty Marietta
starring Nelson Eddy and Jeanette McDonald.

For some reason, my junior high school music teacher showed it every year for three years.

What was he thinking?

I remember watching that in the 5th grade. I still don't know why we watched it.

Moby Dick in 10th grade was a big :wtf:
All I remember is something about Ishmael.
